News has it that Microsoft is buying Skype for $8.5 BILLION. Competitors like Google, and Apple were trying to buy it as well but Microsoft was the top dog in this deal.
What does that mean for all the Microsoft branded things like Xbox, Live Messenger, and the upcoming line of Windows Phones? Well it seems like they would take adavantage of Skype's VoIP service and integrate it into all of these devices very soon.
They better make this work and not fail at it, because Skype is already a very well, world-wide known thing and is already a good application to use by itself.
thats going to be cool when they get it on cell phones, hopefully its not just windows phones though but android phones have Qik video which is a product of Skype.
